![]() With an extensive and amazing track record of unique and imaginative performances featuring his curious instrument and copious amounts of originality, Mike Silverman, a/k/a That1Guy, has set himself apart as a true one-of-a-kind talent that rivals any other artist currently in the entertainment industry. And then there are times you have to tear something apart to find something beautiful inside. Other times you have to try to make it yourself. ![]() Sometimes you don't even have to look for it. But if you look for it, there is still great beauty to be found. ![]() Here are 15 new EELS tracks that may or may not inspire, rock, or not rock you. Or: Fuck all this jibber jabber and see if you like this new record! I'm really just talking to myself here, looking for what's really there under all the defenses. I'm trying to dead reckon my way same as anyone. I've been through some stuff, but I'm no expert. There are some songs along those lines here as well. That's a nice change for the world right there. So why not try to be nice? Starting with yourself. Why not? We all have bad days, but why not put in the effort whenever possible? Nobody has it easy, however their story may appear from a distance. The other thing we can do while everything's such a mess is just try to be kind. The "our" of "In Our Cathedral" is the collective "our" - all of us. Maybe if there's anything we have any true control over, it's how we see things. But it offers this: you can make changes. It doesn't have any answers, other than maybe that there is no answer, the dust never settles, everything is out of control, etc. I'm just optimistic enough to believe that kind of thing can still help people. Music by someone who tends to believe that change starts in your own backyard. ![]() His music is distributed through AWAL, a division of Sony Music. We could do the usual record company "bio" about this new record, but, seriously.who gives a fuck? Prior to returning stateside, he had spent years working onboard cruise ships around the world in the theaters on multiple Royal Caribbean and Princess Cruise vessels, eventually ending up as the guitarist in the house band onboard the world-famous Cunard ocean liner, The Queen Mary 2. Recently, he has licensed his own music for use in films such as Sustaining Grace (2022) and Ana Lily Amirpour’s latest thriller, Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon (2022). He is a violist with the Johnstown and Altoona Symphony Orchestras, the bandleader and guitarist of regional jazz-fusion group The Inner Urge, auxiliary strings with local songwriter Jason Gamble, a studio musician, and freelancer in the Pittsburgh jazz community.
